Ferocactus hamatacanthus (Turk's Barrel Cactus)

 

BLOOM PERIOD: April - May

HABITAT: Western subspecies is found on southwestern exposed slopes with rocky outcrops. Eastern subspecies is found under the drip line of brush such as mesquite in well drained areas.

SUBSPECIES: F. h. hamatacanthus (1) and F. h. sinuatus (2)
