Echinocereus davisii (Dwarf Hedgehog Cactus)

 

BLOOM PERIOD: April - May

HABITAT: Found growing from crevices of limestone ledges containing spike moss.   Very difficult to see because the stem barely sticks above the moss.  It is best observed during the bloom.

A Texas Protected species.
