Escobaria hesteri (Hester's Pincushion Cactus)

BLOOM PERIOD:  April - May

HABITAT:  They can be very difficult to find during dry conditions.   The plant shrinks to the point that other plants and rocks cover it up.  They are found growing on rocky slopes mixed with brush and grass.
